Dushanbe, Tajikistan on 28 August, 2017 – The pioneering Cotton Program launched by CAG will give a novel opportunity for creating new jobs and better life of Lesotho people. Two agro-scientists from the Kingdom of Lesotho, Mr. David Tefo Chele and Ms. Sello Moselane have successfully completed the Cotton Program with Institute of Agricultural Economics Tajik Academy of Agricultural Science of the Republic of Tajikistan. The specific Cotton Program was conducted under the direct lead of Dr., Professor Pirizoda Jalil Safar, Director of the Institute of Agricultural Economics.

I want to use this precious knowledge for the sake of Lesotho agricultural development and my compatriots “, emphasizes newly certificated specialist in cotton cultivation Ms. Sello Moselane.
The Cotton Program promotes bilateral brotherly relationship between Tajikistan and Lesotho into more practical phase, where both sides focus on technology transfer and training program.
The strong support was given to Cotton Program by Honorable Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom Lesotho, Mr. Moleleki, who sees the logical rational in growing country economy through new agro-programs providing needed jobs and improving the lives of Basotho people. One of those successful agro-programs started in frame of Cotton Program by cotton cultivation in Lesotho using tested and proven methods of Tajikistan.
The future perspectives of Cotton Program have the solid bases. The geographical scope and agricultural climate of Lesotho provide a favorable condition for cultivating the cotton. Moreover, the strong commitment of dedicated specialists and demand for labor prospects in Lesotho encourages CAG Team for piloting new phases of Cotton Program.
